I am Teofilo A. Pili Jr., and I live in the Philippines. I am a father to two children and a husband to my wife, Roselyn Mendoza-Pili. We are a small family that is contented and happy with the simple things we have in life until last 2018, when Rosel was diagnosed with CD30, Mycosis Fungoides Stage IIB progressive disease, a type of blood cancer.
The initial medication of Rosel included sixteen (16) cycles of brentuximab, which initially provided seemingly impressive results as it almost completely removed the tumor in her forehead. Sadly, after a year, the cancer/tumor began to spread rapidly all over her body to the point that multiple red patches were visible in different parts of her skin.
Our doctor also suggested making Rosel undergo a Psoralen-ultraviolet A (PUVA) chemotherapy treatment since cancer has already spread throughout her skin. After several sessions, the PUVA treatment yielded no positive results and proved ineffective.
Rosel also tried CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone) treatment, but after (6) sessions, her condition seemed to worsen.
I work as a recruiter in an IT company, and I have been paying for Rosel’s medication through my salary, health insurance benefits, and company medical loans. Rosel is now undergoing her Gemcitabine treatment, and we have just completed her second (2nd ) cycle; however, we have already exhausted all our financial sources.
We are currently in great need of financial assistance to help with my wife’s medication.
