Dear Boxer Loving Advocates, I volunteer with Boxer Rescue of VT, who’s primary focus is saving Boxers who are deemed “rescue only” meaning not adoptable from shelter due to behavior or medical needs and Boxers who are at risk of euthanasia in overcrowded shelters... I am asking for your most Generous Donation Today... Boxer Rescue needs your financial help to cover the rescue & veterinary costs of a very special Boxer who fell apart at the shelter... He shook, growled and was a wreck with severe stress & anxiety, as result He was labeled “rescue only”... This boy is 6 yrs old & has lived through Hell. 6 yrs of abusive beatings, loud yelling, and remote control shock collar... he was a wreck when he arrived here in Vermont. Emotionally for sure and we soon found out physically too. He came very close to dying from intestinal blockages. it took about a month and a half or so and a lot of trips back-and-forth to the veterinary Hospital to clear the blockage is from his intestines. (We ❤️ our Vet) . It seemed like we were finally on the road to recovery when I, his foster mom, began to notice him taking biscuits in a very odd fashion and spent lots of time pushing them around on the floor ... then meal time got very messy too and He made a lot of weird noises and strange physical gestures I have never seen a dog make before. what was most concerning was that I figured something was wrong with his mouth and it was very difficult to pry his mouth open, So I prayed for him & decided that if it was still a problem I would take him to the vet the next day. Well in the morning he can hurt even more trouble with his meal, I tried to look in his mouth and this time it was locked shot, I don’t mean he was resisting I mean locked shut. It seems this boy has a very rare disease that causes his immune system to attack his muscles in his head & jaw.
