We are knocking on your generous hearts for your in-kind donations be it financial and in goods such as (clothes, canned goods, hygiene kits, footwear for kids, toys etc.). As we conduct our community visits and distributions of goods every December 3 prior to the celebration of Christmas, we are looking forward to hearing from you soon so we could address further concerns such transportation and repacking of goods.
We, the SidLak Mountaineering Group, a non-profit organization comprised of kindhearted individuals, mostly public servants of Barangay Gumalang, pursue a humanitarian cause of improving the quality of life of indigenous and unprivileged Matigsalug Tribe in Sitio Mundo, Marilog District, Davao City through active solicitation and delivery of goods, as well as nature conservation seminars and educational health and livelihood services.
Each year we plan a fundraising event to help the indigenous and unprivileged Matigsalug Tribe. Last year with the help of our community and other supporters, we were able to give them school supplies,used clothes and footwears. It was an incredible opportunity, and we are so thankful that we had the resources to help.
For seven years of our continuous pursuit of this cause, we have served as a trustworthy partner of our generous sponsors from various walks of life. More than these in-kind donation however, we have also advocated and demonstrated a more profound cause than entails our forging of a more welcoming social relationship with the once-secluded Matigsalug Tribe communities. True enough, many are still unaware that far from our busy and quite progressive cities are remote and mountainous areas where indigent ethnic people remain traditional in their practices, and hence do not enjoy access to the quality of life, particularly the necessities such as food, clothing, education, health and services.
