Greetings, I am Ehren Menguito. I live in the Philippines, and I require a computer.
The problem is relatively simple: most jobs these days require good hardware to run the software needed for such jobs, and my laptop I inherited from my dad, who in turn got it secondhand from a family friend, is starting to fail: bloated batteries, failing USB ports, slowly corroding chassis, the works.
$1000 might seem to little or too much for some, but the US Dollar has a high exchange rate for the Philippine Peso, at a rate of 1:58 (this was 1:51 when I checked last month).
I can still use my laptop right now, and I'm trying to scavenge parts from old computers lying around the house, but I would like to reach my goal sooner than later.
I will be honest, this goal will be used for personal reasons alongside the professional ones. After all, who doesn't want a computer that runs fast and can last a person for years? The job market is being rather picky too, and some of the excess funds will go to purchasing lessons to meet with the steadily increasing demands.
