Overpopulation of cats and dogs in Manila and nearby provinces has been one of the serious problems we are facing and yet little solution is being taken. In 2019, it was reported that there were 12 million strays roaming the country. During the pandemic, many cats and dogs were left roaming the streets with little or no food and expose to harsh conditions. Worse, they keep on multiplying as these animals were not spayed or neutered. Most local government units will usually conduct operations to catch them and bring them to the pound, where little resources are available. This is an ongoing cycle and this problem will never cease if we do not sterilize the stray dogs and cats. This campaign will support a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return of small animal welfare groups, whose funds are also limited. No matter how much they want to give these animals a better condition, they simply cannot sustain all the expenses of spaying and neutering.
