Only car for family burned to the ground.

Hi! I’m Ryan. I am a husband and father of 2 children. I am a volunteer fire fighter. I hate asking for help if I’m not able to pay people back as soon as I can but I’m in a dire situation now. Monday, 08-01-2022 while on my way to work, it felt and sounded like I hit something in the road. About 10 seconds later, smoke started pouring out from under my hood. Seeing black smoke and not just white steam, having put out multiple vehicle fires in the past, I knew it was on fire and not just a ruptured radiator or something benign. I jumped out and got as much stuff out of my car as I could (thankfully I saved my kids car seats). Also thankfully I was alone, my wife and kids weren’t with me. This was our only vehicle and my only means of transportation to/from work 25 miles from home. I had liability insurance only as it was all I could afford and the car had nearly 200,000 miles on it. This was also my grandmothers car that became mine after she passed away a year ago. Helplessly watching it burn killed me a bit. I need a way to provide for my family. I previously spent 6 years as a police officer, however I turned my chief in for corruption and rather than address the issue, the city decided to bury the corruption and get rid of me instead. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt filed a case through the Missouri Administrative Hearing commission to have her POST license revoked, however that did nothing to help the fact that I was out of a job for months in the middle of the COVID breakout just after my son was born. I fell behind on bills, rent, and life in general. Two years later I’m still trying to catch up. My savings is gone, everything is gone. And now my car is gone. I just need to get to work to provide for my family. It doesn’t help that with the supply chain issues and car manufacturers having shortages, the price of even used cars has skyrocketed. Anything at all helps. I know these are supposed to be long, heartfelt stories but I’m at a loss right now. Thank you.
