Why do I have this fundraising campaign?
I mean, everyone wants to know your purpose about your fundraiser right?
Well, allow me to start..
Who am I?
So, my name is Clyde Dwayne Ribo and I was born an raised from a small island in the Philippines called Bantayan Island. I studied Computer Technology but I haven't finished my course because in the Philippines, all colleges are expensive(for us as a commoner) and I started working to multiple companies already just to make sure I could live independently.
What is the purpose of the fundraising campaign?Back when I was still a child, I reaaalllyyy loved singing as my mom inspired me to sing, it's just that, I am this type of person who easily get stage-frightened. My mouth and eyes twitch when I am nervous so I told myself "Maybe, singing is not for me.".
Then when I started working, I forgot to have fun and focused working until I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosis, and I tell you, it was not a fun experience. I was forced to resign with my job just to give time for myself to heal and I was at my lowest.
One day, I bought a Ukelele to spend some time while I am continuing my medication until my passion for singing came back. I started making some music covers and uploading it to my YouTube channel (which by the way, no one is watching because I am not that famous xD) and eventually started writing some songs.
I scrapped some of my songs because I felt like people doesn't like it but I started uploading snippets of my song in Facebook and my friends started to ask for the full song. If only I can make my own background music then that wouldn't be an issue but I don't have enough funds to finish the song. All I have is my voice, my ukelele and my phone.
I eventually finished writing one song and posted a snippet kn Facebook and people started asking for the full version. I want them to be entertained not just with the music but how I deliver the music to the people's eyes and that's why I made this fundraising campaign to ask for your help to fulfill people's wish to get the full song and entertain them.
What will you do with the remaining funds if you exceeded your goal? My plan is to use the remaining funds to support my future music but I know my music is not the first world problem so I will donate the remaining funds to a church that was wrecked with Typhoon Haiyan back in 2013 (yes, you heard that right, back in 2013) which up until now, was not finished repairing because the church only has 4 households who comes to church every weekend.
My earnings with the music (if there will be) will be split to three, one is for the growth of my music, second is to finance my daily needs and third is for the church as well.
How much was your goal to achieve?I am not asking for a big amount since I could just get a cheap filmmaker who can help me with my music video, I want to pick them because I also want them to get an exposure so that they could get more clients like me or even big clients.
What's in it for you?Well, to be honest, I actually don't know how to say "Your donation will help me so that you can watch my music video" in a good way but the approach would be so rude, my bad ?. All I am saying is your donation will help me release the music, you'll then be able to watch the music video and as one of the funders, I will give you an exclusive access to the video begore it gets released.
I know my reward is not really enough to satisfy everyone but this is the first time I made a crowdfunding, i guess? (hahaha actually the second tine because the first one didn't get any engagement) and I don't have any merch yet to give our to the funders. Maybe in the future, I could, fingers cross.
