My family is struggling right now- a lot. I'm an 18-year-old college student living with my grandparents. They have no clue I'm doing this, and I just want to make them happy. Our elderly dog, Callie, who we called "big girl" was just put down today. We had to call a vet to come to the house because she couldn't walk or move at all. It was so horrible to see her so miserable. The vet's trip to our house alone costed $130. I'm not asking for any specific amount, however. Even just a few dollars would make them so happy. We only get social security as our income, so we can't usually afford much. The entire visit ended up costing over $300. I want to take some of the burden off of my family's shoulders. I wish I was capable of doing it myself, but my job's opening date keeps getting pushed back, so I'm currently out of work. And apparently babysitting in my area is extremely competitive. She was my grandfather's best friend. She'd lay on him despite being way too big to be a lap dog, jump on the trampoline with me and my cousins when I was younger, and I'll never forget how the first day we got her, she managed to eat chocolate and throw up in my room all over my carpet (she was ok). She loved to eat, and the past five days, she wouldn't eat anything. She would only drink a little bit of water. My grandparents are such kind people, and we all volunteer at our local church for a food pantry and vacation bible school. Thank you to anyone who can help out or share with others. Genuinely any amount is appreciated.
