PLS HELP US FUND MAMA'S CHEMO TREATMENT

Hello, everyone! I am Yasmeen, an only child, a bread winner.

I am humbly knocking your kind hearts to please help us fund for Mama's Chemotherapy treatment.
My Mama, TANIA, is just 56 years old, a home maker and a very loving person.
She has been diagnosed with Rectal Adenocarcinoma.

She used to be super active and full of energy but after being diagnosed with CA, she is no longer the Mama Tania we know. :( It breaks our hearts to see her in pain and always worried of the huge financial problem we are facing. :(

Background:

After Super Typhoon Odette caused havoc in our city (Cebu City), we faced another adversary. Mama was complaining of stomach pains, prolonged diarrhea, and sudden weight loss last year (June-December 2021). She didn't want to seek medical attention earlier because she was scared and she was worried about our finances.
Short background about my family:
Papa is a senior but still works. He is self-employed. We are lucky if he lands great projects.
My husband works at home as a Customer Representative.
I work a regular 7am-5pm job.
What we earn goes to our basic needs, Mama's meds & neccessities and the bills at home.

So, December 22, 2021: Mama had a colonoscopy and there we knew that Mama has cancer.
The moment the doctor informed us that she has an 8cm tumor in her rectum and it was already necrotic, this crushed our worlds.
The doctor asked us to admit Mama right away becuase the tumor was already big and she needed immediate surgery.

She needed to have a Colostomy to avoid more irritation and to prevent more necrosis in the tumor area.
We admitted her at Chong Hua Hospital on the same day (December 22, 2021). We could not think straight, our minds were really clouded when we heard the news. I just nodding and everything was blur.
The cost of receiving care at a Private institution is unbelievable. We tried to avail the Charity program by the hospital but the waiting list was long.

At the hospital, she was not allowed to eat solid food. Just clear liquids (water, clear soup). She had her nutrients from a Peripheral Parenteral Nutrition (PPN) which cost almost P9,000.00 per bag plus the use of the machine which was P500.00 per day. 1 bag was to be consumed in 24 hrs. This was her "food" for 8 days (before her surgery).

She had a whole abdomen CT scan and they found a 2cm mass in her liver.
On December 28, 202: she had her 3-hour long surgery. Colostomy and removing the mass from her liver (which was sent for biopsy). It was non cancerous. (Praise God!)

She was in a lot of pain after the surgery and she had loads of antibiotics and pain meds.

Everyday our bill just kept growing ang growing. Our emergency fund, our savings, all gone. We had to ask and borrow some money from our family and friends just to cover the bills. (God bless their hearts).

On January 03, 2022: two days after the New Year, Mama got discharged. And still on pain meds.

January 24, 2022: her first visit to the Oncologist. The doctor requested new blood works, CT Scan, and a Second opinion on her liver mass biopsy report.

January 27, 2022: second opinion for her liver mass came out: NONCANCEROUS (Praise the Lord)

January 28, 2022: We had to seek financial assistance from the city to cover the cost of the CT Scan. Good thing was, St Vincent hospital still accepts LOAs from the financial program.

February 03, 2022: she had whole chest and abdomen with contrast CT Scan

February 10, 2022: Official reading came out.
The 8cm tumor was now at 9cm which is why Mama is in a lot pain.

February 11, 2022: second visit to the Oncologist. This was the time where we discussed about her treatment plan and what they have discussed with the other doctors who handled Mama's case. He told us that during the exploratory laparatomy, they found some small masses at the stomach lining/wall.
So, Mama needs Chemotherapy as soon as possible.
12 Cycles of Chemotherapy

He gave us two options:
1. Chemotherapy thru a Portacath. This is a 2-day process. She would stay at the Chemo Unit for half a day then finish the meds at home and she has to have this EVERY TWO WEEKS.
This costs around Php 37,000.00.
Portacath costs at Php 30,000.00 and even higher for some surgeons.

2. Oral + IV Chemotherapy. She has to be admitted at the hospital for two days and she has to have this EVERY THREE WEEKS.
This costs around Php 45,000.00.

Plus Targeted treatments.
He would send the biopsy sample taken from her tumor (rectum) for 3 types of tests:
* KRAS (Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog)
* NRAS (neuroblastoma RAS viral oncogene homolog)
* MSI (Microsatellite instability)
All these tests would cost Php 40,000.00

If Mama tests positive to either one of these tests, a million pesos is not enough :(
One medicine costs at Php 78,000 and she has to take it every two weeks :(

I've been browsing the web for any forms of financial and medical assistance available. I have sent out e-mails hoping they would respond.

Please help us with Mama's healing and journey to recovery.
I know this is a long shot but we will do anything no matter how tough the situation is.

Thank you and bless your hearts!
