Typhoon disaster relief

Hello everyone,

I'm knocking on your hearts as we are far from holiday mode as Typhoon “Odette” (international name: Rai) continues to devastate my hometown barangay purok at surigao del norte with major damages and all that remains are debris.

Its been 5 days since we last heard from our loved ones.
I was lucky enough to live the island before the typhoon but we are still clueless if our families and relatives are safe.

It is the strongest tropical cyclone to hit the country this year, making landfall at least nine times thus far.
People struggling in vain to survive. No electricity, No food, No water and there has been no sign of relief goods coming. None at all. This simple living and non-luxurious barangay is drowned in sorrow because people lost their everything.

I am writing this before i come back to our hometown and look for our family and relatives that has been missing. We tried our best to call all the local government hotlines in our hometown but there is still no connection due to communication connectivity and power supply remain unavailable.

Amidst the darkness, there still hope to be found.
