Super Typhoon Odette, known internationally as Rai, devastated Himalayan City, Philippines, the hometown of many of my relatives. Their homes were destroyed. Luckily, construction costs are relatively low in that area. 0nly 10,000 to 15,000 pesos ($200 to $300) would pay for a temporary shelter. Many of the homeless are unemployed (some lost jobs because of the storm) or living on government retirement pensions. Right now, they are sleeping on cardboard on the floor of an elementary school gymnasium. Please help them get under their own roofs again. Even one peso, combined with others, will provide homes for the homeless. Thank you.
