Shelter Campaign:Acid Survivors, Women & Aged

Acid Survivors Saahas Foundation (ASSF )is the result of the struggles and sweat of acid attack victim herself , Daulat Bi Khan who suffered the pain and anguish of this crime at a very tender age and was attacked at the hands of her own blood, her elder sister who scarred her and paved a way for a life of suffering. The burns, the multiple endless surgeries, the trauma, the tears of her children, the loss of an identity she once had - It was the toughest unimaginable phase for her post the attack
But she fought for herself, against the norms of society, against all odds and decided to start the journey which could help so many others who faced the crime she once did and braved herself to come out of ! Not an easy journey where she had days as bad as sitting outside temples to get some food for her little children and struggling for livelihood as a single mother post the end of a troubled marriage as well to add to the woes !

Founded in 2016 as a humble beginning, Daulat Bi has relentlessly worked over these years to aid over 45 acid victims and their families across India with help ranging from immediate surgical help and treatments, rehab, trauma therapy, follow up operations, rental, domestic, medical, financial, educational and employment assistance all to get them to be brave ' ACID VICTORS' a term she uses instead of 'ACID VICTIMS' and rightly so is the motto of the foundation "Empowering Acid VICTORS" .The acid victims she supports are from an age group of as little of 7 year old children who faced the attack as a baby in the arms of their mother to single mothers and young girls whose dreams were attempted to be spoilt with the attacks. Acid Survivors Saahas Foundation now has a dream of reaching out to many others in the society targeting specially the homeless, suffering aged people who are neglected and ill treated by their own children, who at a time and age of support are rather thrown out of their homes to fend for themselves, also women and widows who face merciless harassment and domestic crimes and torture. ASSF aims to build a shelter home for all of them and help them with a roof below their head and all the facilities to be self independent along with all the resources to help in coming out of their troubled lives
