Good day, everyone. We humbly reach out to your kind hearts to seek assistance for my wife’s sister's hospitalization. Her name is Maricris Deuna. She is a TB meningitis patient with complications of hydrocephalus. She has been administered a ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from her brain last December 2024 and went out a week after to recover at home. But this February she had an attack again of severe pain in the head and now confined in the provincial hospital in Sorsogon. The doctor said they will perform External Ventricular Drain (EVD) as soon as possible . Despite undergoing strong medications, laboratory tests, CT scans, and X-rays, her condition remains worrisome. She has been excessively sleepy, weak, complaining that there’s pain but she can’t point out where, and has lost her appetite for days now, which is very unusual for her. Currently, she is undergoing medication to suppress/kill the bacteria underlying in her brain and spinal areas. Given the severity of her situation, she requires constant and specialized medical attention. Our family is struggling to keep up with the mounting medical expenses. We humbly ask for your help. Any donation, no matter the amount, would make a tremendous difference in helping Maricris get the treatment she urgently needs. Your support will bring her one step closer to recovery and provide us with hope during this challenging time. We also kindly ask that you keep Maricris in your prayers for her healing and strength. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
