Good day! I'm Joan Vargas, I'm 13 years old in 8th grade, and I'm from the Philippines. I made this fundraiser for my stepfather who is blind because he wanted to go back to his home town. My stepfather went blind since the year 2021. My stepfather was a hardworking man but since the year he went blind, he can no longer work or find a job. Sometimes we have nothing to eat, we just drink water to survive. We sometimes ask for my stepfather friends or my mom friends for help, but sometimes they just ignore us because maybe they have also other things to spend their money on. My stepfather really help me while i was growing up and this is my repay for all the good things he had done for me and my family. My stepfather always told me to study hard and to do the right thing and to help others. My stepfather loves dogs, and sometimes he saves half of his meal to share it with his dogs. Also, my stepfather loves to help others even if he has nothing left for himself. Sometimes we ask our neighbor if they have extra food that we can eat so we can survive, good thing our neighbor is kind. My mom is unemployed, if you're living here in the Philippines, you would understand how education is the most important thing, because my mother did not finish her education, she doesn't have a job that pays well. Sometimes my mom is washing clothes of others. But the pay cannot make us survive for 1 week. My stepfather is just always sitting inside our house in silence, and sometimes I ask myself what is inside his mind. My stepfather will turn 50 years old this upcoming may 21. So I'm doing this for my stepfather, and i hope you can find it in your heart to help my stepfather to go back to manila. His hometown. I'm not really good at english and writing letters. But i wanted to do this for my stepfather. Thank you very much.
