A Life Given for God's Kingdom: Bringing Hope to the Needy

My name is Rachel Orquia Ferrer Peria, and my heart has always been drawn to helping those in need. Having experienced life's hardships, I know what it's like to struggle, but I have also seen how God's love and grace can lift the weary soul. For years, I have dreamed of establishing a foundation to provide food, clothing, and toys to children who have little, while also sharing with them the greatest gift, --- the gospel of salvation.


However, my journey has not been easy. I was diagnosed with Stage 3B colon cancer, and while I have undergone treatment, new challenges continue to arise with my health. Just recently another challenging situation I have to face as another fast growing nodule seen in my left breast. Awaiting my result from the surgical biopsy I undergone just last Friday, I do not know how much time I have left, but one thing I am certain of -- ”I want my remaining days to be used for God's glory". Instead of focusing on my illness, I choose to dedicate my strength to fulfilling this mission: to serve and uplift the poor while proclaiming the hope found in Christ.


There are countless families, especially in the mountainous areas of Bukidnon, who struggle daily to meet their basic needs. Many children grow up without proper clothing, food, or even a simple toy to brighten their childhood. These may seem like small things to some, but to these children, they mean everything. More than that, they need to hear about the love of Jesus and the salvation He offers.


The Challenge
To officially establish a foundation in the Philippines, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires a minimum of PhP 1 million in initial capital. This amount is far beyond my personal means, but I believe that God will provide through the generosity of people who will share this burden with me.
