About Bo

When SWS received a call from Andrea, an extremely concerned animal lover, about a stray cat she regularly feeds who was crying in excruciating pain, we couldn't ignore it. The worry in Andrea's voice was so obvious and contagious. Upon seeing the photos and video of the cat she named Bo, I immediately arranged for a rescue. Andrea stayed by Bo's side until Jun arrived. As reported, Bo is pregnant and was hit by a vehicle. She was writhing in pain, had an obvious broken and bleeding leg, was weak, and appeared to be in critical condition. Rescuer Jun immediately went to the location in Boni, Mandaluyong to pick up the cat and bring her to Vetlink Vet Clinic. At the clinic, Bo tested negative for the feline panleukopenia virus (FPV). However, she was not eating. Her wound was immediately cleaned and it was apparent that she sustained a broken leg with exposed flesh and bone. Amputation may be necessary, but only when her body is ready. Reporter Andres initially thought Bo was pregnant, but an x-ray and ultrasound showed that her bloated stomach was filled with feces, and she was not pregnant. The x-ray also showed that Bo's lungs were in bad condition and she had a respiratory infection. She was also coughing. CBC and blood chemistry test results were as follows: "CBC, her white blood cell count is very high. Platelet count is normal; Biochemistry, her CK is very high due to the trauma. She also has a liver problem due to increased ALT. It's better to stabilize her first since her infection is very high. Hopefully, it can be managed." Bo is in intensive care as her condition is critical. The necessary medications were administered, and she is now on IV fluids as she is not eating. Please 8kpray for this poor cat's survival.
