Help Raka Fight Ewing's Sarcoma

Raka Belle is a brave 13-year-old boy who has been courageously battling Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer, since he was just 9 years old. Despite facing unimaginable challenges, Raka has never lost his bright spirit or the hope that keeps him fighting. This summer, our world was shaken when Raka’s condition took a drastic turn, and his cancer spread significantly. Now, he’s beginning a new and critical chemotherapy treatment—his best chance at continuing this fight. But we’ve hit a heartbreaking roadblock. Our insurance company is refusing to cover this life-saving treatment, claiming it’s not "medically necessary," despite the fact that Raka has exhausted all standard chemotherapy options. The drug they’re denying, trabectedin, was identified in a cutting-edge trial as the most effective option for Raka after testing 100 different treatments on his tumor cells. Without it, his chances dwindle. Our incredible team of doctors is tirelessly appealing this decision, but time is not on our side. To ensure Raka gets the treatment he needs, we are preparing to purchase the chemotherapy ourselves. This process, called “white bagging,” means we’ll have to personally bring the medication to the hospital for administration. Raka will need this treatment every three weeks for 12 cycles, and the costs are overwhelming. We are asking for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to giving Raka the fighting chance he deserves.
