Our volunteer helper LIBERTY needs your HELP!

Our volunteer helper LIBERTY needs your help! Liberty has been a volunteer worker for many years, offering her knowledge, talent, skills, and professional service, helping people she meets and in the communities she visits. To sustain this embraced mission of hers, she earned her living through social entrepreneurship and consultancy work for non-government organizations. This lifestyle that she chose was supported by her family, especially her mother, who was always proud of her endeavors. Year 2015 her youngest sister got psychologically depressed, and Liberty took care of her. Year 2016 her mother was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer Stage IV, and Liberty took care of her as well. These responsibilities hindered Liberty from getting stable employment. Marriage came in 2018 and with her husband’s help they earned a decent living. However, her sister’s and mother’s medical bills continued to be their main concern. At the height of the pandemic, while seeking safety in the province, the Delta virus surge erupted in September 2021. Many family members, including her husband, fell seriously ill. But the worse came when the virus claimed the lives of both her sister and her mother. As she was needed to care for her loved ones, Liberty was still unable to get regular employment. But her love for charity work and learning, led her to continue volunteer work. She shared her talents through speaking engagements, marketing of products, study and research projects, among others. She also put her heart in mobilizing assistance for local entrepreneurs, like farmers, during the height of the Pandemic. In November 2021, her husband was diagnosed with tuberculosis and diabetes. This entailed moving to the city to get the best treatment. Liberty became a government employee for their financial needs. The tuberculosis was addressed after 6 months, and as for the diabetes, her husband has been taking insulin from June 2022 up to the present. On Liberty’s health: she was diagnosed with gallstones last 2016, serious acid reflux in 2017 and GERD in 2018. All these episodes entailed immediate medical attention and hospitalization. Her last attack of her GERD was last March 2023, but due to financial problems, decided to address it with a proper diet and not hospitalization. She also started to experience heavy menstruation in 2022 until the present. Although with these conditions, her priority was her husband’s health and focused on his treatments. Despite all the financial burdens, Liberty still wished to pursue her dreams. Wanting to have a more stable and gainful career she enrolled and completed her master’s degree from Feb 2023 up to March 2024. However, the heavy load and stress could have taken its toll on her body. In June, she started to feel weak but managed to continue with her work. Her symptoms persisted until this October; stomach pains were getting worse. She had to be admitted in the hospital on October 23, 2024. ============= Liberty has been confined for 11 days now, due to a rare condition upon diagnoses of professional doctors. They are still investigating the root cause of her illness. She has blood clots on her veins going to her stomach. Surgery removed the blockage but there are many veins that still had clots. She is on blood thinner to augment the surgery. After the first treatment, she will face the next treatment for her myoma/nodules in her uterus. She will need another surgery. The doctors hope to have it at least after a month from her 1st treatment. She needs continuous blood transfusions because of her low hemoglobin/anemic. Transfusions could be stopped on some days, but the doctors are on alert for this procedure when needed. Due to the severity of her condition, Liberty’s hospital bills continue to rise. As of October 31, 2024 her running current hospital bills is 1million pesos (PH). She is still admitted in the hospital and will be staying for indefinite days. Any amount will do and may our God will return all your generosity a hundredfold.
As Liberty continue her mission together with her husband spreading love and kindness to everyone. Again, thank you very much and God bless us all! https://www.facebook.com/liberty.c.talastas/
