Recently, our lives took a sharp turn when my mom was diagnose with Stage 4 Liver Cancer, which has tragically spread to her lungs and bones. Based on her AFP and PIVKA II tumor markers and detailed results from her CTScan, the doctors confirm the severity of her condition.
Mama Babie is a fighter and she started her battle with 15 intensive radiation therapy that have help managed her pain and strengthen her bones. Now, she is undergoing monthly treatments with Zoledronic acid, costing Php 5000 per cycle to continue her fight. But this is just the beginning.
The upcoming treatment phase is daunting, amounting to Php70, 000 monthly, excluding the necessary frequent laboratory tests and other essentials medications. Her medical insurance has been exhausted when she was confined last March 6- April 14, 2024.
