Fundraiser for Performing Arts Olympics 2024

Hi, I'm Althea! I'm usually known around our small art communities locally as Vecher. Recently this November 2023, I passed the auditions for the Philippine's national team for the World Championship of Performing Arts or more commonly known as WCOPA. Our competition will be held in Long Beach, in California USA by June 2024. I'm a self- taught artist competing for the category of singing with an acoustic acompaniment together with 99 other delegates to represent our country. Unfortunately, we really cannot afford the olympic's monetary and preparation requirements because we are obliged to provide our competition's needs individually, from our papers for the embassy, visa, even our equipment and possible training... With these circumstances, and given our family's status, we really cannot afford any of these. All we can really afford is a passport.

I made this fundraiser as suggested by my mother's friend. Really, I hope you can help me push through for this competition. It had always been a dream of mine, and I really wish to represent our small city and our country while chasing my dreams. I really wish to compete for this competition to fight those other unseen people who are equally as talented and lovely that are dreaming the same thing but are struggling too for the same struggles as I have... Growing up in the Philippines, it has been hard to pursue such aspiration given how hard life is in here and how we need to prioritize the necessities of paying bills upon bills. Having an art career is a luxury we cannot afford; all we can count on is our abilities to hone and dreams to push through. Me and my family will be truly, and whole-heartedly grateful for any amount of help you will be giving for this little fundraiser! Even the smallest amount can help us in the biggest way possible. More than that, I'd like to personally thank you for taking time on reading this little letter I left here.
