Just posting a fundraising try here in hopes of restarting my life.
Putting a disclaimer here before all other context! Please feel free to skip me over, and by all means, prioritize those you prefer to donate to, especially to those who need it the most. I come to knock only to those who have and are willing to spare what they can :) Please do prioritize others if you must!
For context, I am a 26 year old male from the Philippines, who is currently being a breadwinner for my mom and my 2 sisters. Circumstances such as starting from the bottom and having unkind family members put me in a tough situation; as of today, I am the one carrying all the weight for the family while they do their best to stand up for themselves. My mom has been looking for work for a year already; my second sister does have a job of her own (earns $5,800 ANNUALLY), and my youngest sister is still in school. I myself have my own job (earns $12,000 ANNUALLY), which is what we're currently relying on; we do live paycheck to paycheck. The only amount that remains after all liabilities is $4 a month.
What is the $90,000 fundraising goal for? It would be for our mortgage. One may think that having a mortgage is a sign of "comfort," and I would agree and would not have opposing thoughts as such, but the mix of circumstances is what I hope to be seen and heard.
We do not have a house of our own, and we've left our abusive father for a better life. From the time I graduated last 2018, I've worked and worked to put my family in a better state; we've gone to live in houses that got flooded and in houses that literally needed us to squeeze between each other due to small spaces. If we were to spend money on renting, we thought it would be better to spend rent on something that we could own in the future, if circumstances permit. The mortgage is an attempt to try the odds in life, even though we may get only a few chances to try. I am a hard worker and I put my knowledge to use; I've also chased opportunities and scholarships to provide for my own further studying. Some people who may read this may think that we can simply just do more instead of ask for help here, but the only thing that I'd like to be heard and seen for is that we do that every day, even though there are no results yet.
This is only a glimpse or a brief context on why I come here. I would be glad to converse with you or give more light on whatever you may ask, even if you plan to only give a dollar or even just ask. I'd like to be as transparent and as open as I can be; one that cannot be contained within this text box here. Once again, please do prioritize those who you deem need your help more; I do encourage you to do so. But in hopes of finding my own way out as well, I braven myself to put this out there in hopes of passing by anyone who would want to help.
