I have been doing rescue, rehabilitation efforts and feeding for the stray animals in Quezon City, Manila and Mandaluyong in the Philippines since 2020 on my own time using personal funds to feed them, get them fixed, foster them until they get adopted. I was able to rehabilitate 17 cats/kittens and get them adopted into loving homes. Right now, I have 5 rescued cats adopted into our home plus 2 more kittens (which I hope to be adopted so I can maintain only 5 inside the house plus 1 rescued dog).
2 of the 6 community cats I care for in our neighborhood, currently being fostered in our garage, underwent emergency visits to the vet. The other one with a big wound suspected to have been shot with an air pellet but not sure and would need to be cared for for 2 weeks (dress his wound, give him supplements).
In the office, I feed 7 more (4 cats, 3 kittens). 2 were fixed for free but needed long-acting antibiotic and supplements after their procedure. I would need to catch the rest of them before the 2 female kitties go on heat.
Admittedly, all my personal funds, supposed to be savings for family emergencies, are depleted. I realized how hard it is to sustain the things I do for these stray animals but I can't just give up on them. I hope to have these kitties vaccinated with 4-in-1 shots, the anti-rabies I can get for free from the local government, but they need to be dewormed and hopefully tested for viruses.
