As I celebrate my 50th Birthday this coming 28th of October 2023, I want to show my solidarity to the victims of violence, thus staging a fund-raiser that will benefit children traumatized by pain, fear, and silence. As part of a Non Government Organization in the Philippines, The Children's Rehabilitation Center; working decades as right defender and child rights advocate. It is my humble desire to reach out to these children and offer them a safe space where pain could possibly be transformed into strength. A place where love and understanding prevails over fears.
In this haven, children will find solace in the softness of new sofas, comforters that will provide them warmth, and pillows that caught their falling tears. Cabinets held their precious mementos, a testament to their resilience. These aren’t just fixtures and furniture, but rather a sense of a new beginning- a symbol of their newfound comfort, security and hope. One by one, these brave children began to heal, sharing their stories, their dreams, and their hopes. These psychotherapy room and kids corner will serve as a avenue for healing, rebuilding their lives, to trust, and to find the courage to break the cycle of abuse.
It is in this context that I wanted to make my 50th birthday a meaningful one and will leave a significant impact to the life of these children through your generous support. Together, we can write new stories of hope and healing for these children, where their tears become a testament to their strength, and their future will be filled with the promise of love, security, and endless possibilities.
