I'm reaching out because my cat is going through a tough time with heartworm disease, and I'm trying to raise funds to help him out. I'm using an AI to help me rephrase things since English isn't my strongest suit. I adopted him when he was just a tiny 2-month-old kitten, and we named him GENERAL. He quickly became our first furry family member. But things got rough within the first couple of weeks – he had some health issues that needed attention. I managed to gather enough money to cover the costs, but it was a stretch, and I even had to pick up an extra job to make ends meet. After that, things settled down for a while, but then things took a sad turn. Through all the ups and downs, my little kitten was my rock. Whenever I was feeling down, he'd curl up next to me, providing the comfort only a pet can give. During those nights when relationship problems kept me up, he'd plop himself on my chest, somehow knowing how to reassure me. I owe him so much, and losing him is something I can't bear to think about. He's almost 6 months old now, and on July 22nd, I had to rush him to the vet. Turns out he had Feline Coronavirus (FCOV) and a double flu infection. His fever was sky high at 44 degrees! Luckily, I had a bit of money saved from before, so I could cover the vet bills. It took him about 4 days to get better, but he's still dealing with some shakiness and balance problems. Treating that whole situation cost me nearly 20k, wiping out most of my savings. And now, on top of it all, I found out he's got heartworms. I'm beyond devastated. From what I've read, it might be a battle we can't win, and if the worms die, it could cause even more issues. I'm tapped out financially – I don't have the means to cover his treatment. I just want him to get better. He's been my source of love and support, especially when things were hard.
