Hi everyone. I'm Charisse, 29 years old, a single parent from the Philippines, and this is my story.
I have a decent job in the BPO industry, and my property is subject to foreclosure. People might see my campaign as non-urgent compared to others, but I have been struggling to collect funds to save my property for months now. When the pandemic happened, I risked my monthly salary to get a low-cost housing property in Naic, Cavite because it has been my dream since I was a kid to have my own home. All through my childhood years, we have been renting, and I remember moving twice before my parents finally decided to buy a house. We didn't live there longer because it was also foreclosed due to my parents mishandling funds and my father losing his job as an OFW in Saudi Arabia. I was so devastated at the time and promised myself I will never become like my parents. I didn't finish my studies and worked full-time when I turned 18 to support my family. Frustration after frustration. When I was 20, I gave birth to a beautiful angel, and my priorities changed. I'm not only working for my family, I'm working hard for my kid's future, so she won't end up like me. But it was a bumpy road. I had to settle my parents' loans and my salary wasn't enough, so I ended up applying for loans, too. It was such a bad decision. I have been paying for all the loans until now. Then the pandemic happened, we were on a lockdown, my salary was no longer divided into bills and transportation allowance, I had enough to continue settling some loans, and got a property with no downpayment, and a monthly amortization of Php7,432.11, payable for 30 years. I was able to pay on time until restrictions were lifted, and I had to spend for transportation again, which really affected my monthly expenses. My salary was not even moving up, and so I enrolled my kid to a public school to save a lot from tuition fees. But school materials and requirements are still expensive, and I'm still paying for a lot of loans from my parents and my own.
I am now behind with my housing loan payments for almost 12 months now. I have tried lending money to some people I know, but they refused, and I completely understand. I just really tried my luck. I also tried applying for bank loans but some declined my application, and some only approved roughly Php5,000.
This is my story, and I shared it with all honesty, expecting judgments with my bad decision-making. I completely understand. But I am frustrated and sad. I don't want to lose my dream home for me and my kid. I'm knocking into your kind hearts to help me with my dream. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. I didn't put a timeframe because I was still trying to coordinate with the collections department if they can still extend the dates until I can completely settle my balance.
My total balance as of today is roughly Php 150,000 + penalties amounting to around Php 5,000. It is a total of 11-12 months of lapses and added a small amount for any other penalties that could be possibly charged to me.
Please help me save our home.
