Kootzie & Marina Animal Support Activities started as a personal act of kindness of saving a kitten's life on April 6, 2019. And today, after four years of hard work and dedication, Kootzie & Marina Animal Support Activities has become a non-stock/non-profit organization in the Philippines. Please see our Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/KootzieAndMarina2Our Mission is to humanely minimize the number of stray cats and dogs on the streets, and give them a meaningful life as much as possible. We would like to inspire a community to enrich the animal-human bond where each animal is given respect and kindness. We hope to encourage people to give these homeless animals compassionate treatment, and to stop the cruelty, maltreatment, and abuse.
Kootzie & Marina Animal Support Activities have been rescuing stray cats and kittens, particularly sick kittens, senior cats, pregnant cats, and abandoned dogs and puppies since April 6, 2019. We nurture every cat and dog we rescue by giving them the sustenance they need, including the medication they require. We keep them as shelter residents for as long as we can provide them with all the love and care, and attention they need.
On March 29, 2023, our shelter was transferred to a new place due to circumstances beyond our control. Since the transfer was so immediate, we were not able to disinfect the premises thoroughly. The vicinity was contaminated with certain viruses. As a result, from April 6, 2023, up to May 12, 2023, nineteen of our cats and kittens were infected by the Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV). Most of them were treated at our official veterinary clinic, but unfortunately, seventeen out of nineteen cats and kittens have died.
Due to these circumstances, our finances to support Kootzie & Marina have become depleted. We are in dire need of immediate assistance. We would like to continue this advocacy, so we humbly ask for your kind support. We highly appreciate your kind understanding and support.
