My name is Kaye. I’m the eldest in our family of 3 (with my two brothers and my son) – my mom being a single mother. This is the reason I decided to write our story. We could not ask for a better mother. Despite the challenges our family has faced – my mother has been our Rock.
She’s always found ways to keep us in school, takes the time to take care of us and at the same time balances an 8-to-5 job. The biggest proof I have of my mother’s constant love is when she supported my decision to have a son without placing any judgment at all.
And now, early in April, we were told of a devastating news that she has Stage 3 breast cancer. My immediate thought was how to help her. I am too young to be able to contribute financially, but I can still do something about my mother’s condition.
Through this crowdfunding app, I am appealing to your generous hearts to help raise funds for her medical and hospital bills. Even before getting chemotherapy, she has already spent Php100,000 for laboratory test, citiscans, and biopsy procedures. We’re grateful for her HMO, but it is not enough to cover for all hospital and medical bills.
She has to undergo chemotherapy six times and each time costs P75,000 – that’s not even including hospital bills, other medications, and doctor’s fees. Add in another P30,000, that means we need Php100,000 for every treatment. I have heard her consult with doctors and friends asking where she can get funding from local government agencies and similar programs such as PCSO, DSWD for patients who need financial assistance.
I hope to raise around US$10,000 (or Php500,000) to defray her medical bills. If you can spare a bit of time to tell your friends about our situation by sharing this link, our family will be most grateful.

Reflecting back how I first decided to undergo chemo treatment last June 2023, I thought it was as simple as just fortifying myself through the 18 treatments. It has been a long and tedious journey. But it’s not over. I was told by my doctor that I had to go through a mastectomy just to ensure that the cancer cells will be totally removed.
When I became a mom, I told myself that I will protect my children no matter what. What I didn’t expect is that it will entail me having to go through a mastectomy and yet another round of treatments after the operation. Can I do this? This is another way of protecting my children and grandson because I want to watch them grow up and guide them along the right path.
I can do this! In the midst of all this, I have received blessings – from friends, family, and strangers through their donations, prayers, and their presence. The best blessing I have received are the positive results from my bone scan, MRI, and other tests. Thank you, Father in Heaven. I am healing. I can do this!

Our long battle with Mom’s cancer is not yet over. I feel she is the bravest person in the world and having to decide to go through with a mastectomy was not an easy one for her. Yet, she is amazing when it comes to providing for us and ensuring we have a happy home.
We need to raise another P200,000 for the operation, hospital and doctors' fees, and other expenses after the surgery. If you can post and share our story to more people, we will be most grateful for whatever we can receive. Thank you so very much for your support.
