fixing our home.

great day to all! ^^ I am a 17-year-old student who kindly wishes to ask for your time.

during the pandemic, my mother lost her job. currently, she's working as a janitor and would look for sidelines to clean apartments for extra cash. but during the pandemic, we were renting a two-story apartment for 25k a month. as I am soon graduating senior high school, my parents thought it would be best to live in mandaluyong.

with their life savings, they bought a small piece of land and had my father and his friend build the foundation because we didn't have enough money to hire workers. on december, we were due to pay rent, but considering how our three-story house was built and is only missing a few things, mother thought it would be best to move early as we didn't have enough money to finish the house.

on december 24th, we moved to our home and I found it somewhat okay to live in. but, two months later, a storm caused heavy rain. without a proper roof, the third floor was flooded, and half of our belongings were drenched in rainwater. my father tried fixing it by using large insulation foams, it did help keep our belongings dry but still floods the third floor.

on the second floor, we have a huge gap in which where the window would go. whenever it rains, rainwater would wake us up in the middle of the night, and because our wall absorbs the water from the third floor and from the front wall of our house, the second floor becomes flooded as well. leaving us no choice but to have a large wooden plank under our futon to sleep comfortably.

my mother believes that with a proper roof, and our floors tiled, we'll be able to have enough time to save money for the rest of our house. I don't know how much it would all cost, but I wish to help my mother with saving enough money to get those two things done.

as a student, I help by saving my lunch money along with my brother. but alas, the money we would manage to save up is either used to buy groceries or necessities.

and so, I ask for your help. any amount will do! tbh, I find it embarrassing that I asked for money from strangers on the internet, but whatever it takes to help my parents. also, I know that there are far more serious situations that are in need of your attention, but I hope you find it in your heart to at least share my story.
