Ruptured Brain Tumor of my Brother

This year 2023 has been the most difficult time for our family. Our mother has just died last January 18 from a Stage IV Neuroendocrine Colon-Liver Cancer and we as a family have undergone mild depression since our mother died very young at the age of 59.

After a month of recuperating and mourning the loss of our mother, our brother "Mojo" who is only 26 yrs old had a stroke-like incident and suddenly couldn't see with his eyes and lost his ability to stand up but still a bit conscious. He suffered greatly and exclaimed his head just exploded and he's in excruciating pain. He kept vomitting clear fluid and couldn't stand the pain. Good thing my father and sister were there for him when the incident happened. My father caught him in time while he is coming out of the bathroom while suffering from the incident. I was at work outside the city at that time and my father immediately called me to go home for the emergency while my sister called 911.

Later that night I got into the hospital ER and witnessed my dad crying beside my brother who is now unconscious and not moving. The saddest information we've heard from the doctor was that he is in GCS 3 and that they will not revive him if he goes into an arrest due to his very low coma score. But eventhough that was the info we received, we never gave up on Mojo. We prayed and we prayed to God endlessly while we were all crying. We really prayed to God that we must never have a second funeral this year and the years to come. On that same night his MRI scan showed up and it was not just merely a severe stroke incident but in fact a ruptured brain tumor located at the mid brain left lobe affecting all his brain functions. Fortunately, we were all outside the ER praying for Mojo the whole night, his GCS score escalated into 6 due to the sudden movement of his right hand and right foot. We were all in sudden joy because of the signs of life he still had and the doctors immediately worked him out to increase his chance of survival by hooking him up to the ventilator and putting him in Neuro ICU care.

After almost a month of fighting for survival, Mojo is currently admitted in the Southern Philippines Medical Center Hospital Neuro ICU. We transferred him there under charity case because we couldn't afford to pay his previous hospital bills anymore when he was first admitted in a private hospital. We have no choice at that time because that was the only hospital that had a ventilator available in the ER and a vacant Neuro ICU room.

Now we are sincerely asking for your help because there will be a series of procedures to be done for our brother Mojo. The hospital is under charity case but the PF of the doctors who will be operating him is not free. The location of the tumor is also very deep and is very risky to be operated/extracted and that tools for the tissue biopsy in the hospital is still quite limited so they cannot do tissue biopsy either. It is still uncertain if the nature of the tumor is malignant or benign but one thing is for sure that the tumor is growing. So the doctor's 2nd recommendation is to undergo him radiation and chemotherapy for the tumor to stop growing or decrease it's size. Later they'll decide if extraction of the tumor is still necessary or not.

All of the procedures and operation done before are all palliative and just for Mojo's motor sensory recovery. No exact treatment was still done because the tumor is still inside his head. We are hoping to bring him to the best hospital in the Philippines if we can just to give him the best treatment amd surgery he deserves. Even considered to bring him outside the country just to treat him for he is still very young and he has also promised his mother to fulfill his dreams of designing a house for the family because he just graduated as an Architecture but yet to take the board exams.

We are asking for your sincere help because we really don't have the resources anymore and we're already financially drained due to the series of unfortunate events in our family. Hoping we could raise this money very soon to continue his treatment. We thank you in advance and may your generous hearts be blessed, may your life be filled with abundance and far from sickness and diseases, may we all be healed physically, mentally, spiritually, financially, and may God bless us all!
