Hello everyone, I would like you to meet my auntie Alma Reyes. She used to be a positive, kind-hearted, strong single mother who raised her four children alone. I have huge respect for her, just like any other mother. She did her best to raise her children until they grew up and had families of their own. She used to work for the government, but since she's in deep debt, she only receives a small amount of salary, around 220Php, which is around $4, after deducting all the different loans she's currently in. Then something happened. One of her children was diagnosed with diabetes, which got neglected because her son ignored all the symptoms until it was too late. The sugar got so high and the acid in his stomach damaged most of his internal organs. So her son passed away back in 2020, when the Covid pandemic was in high alert, and the lockdown made it more difficult for them to rescue him. The family members didn't even have a chance to see their sibling's face after passing away, not even a proper goodbye. They cremated his son very soon because of the Covid policy or for some other reason. The mother didn't have a chance to say goodbye, but the last word her son said was "Mama" while in agony. This led to deep pain for my auntie Alma. She's in deep stress, depression, and couldn't focus on working until that day happened. She lost her job while still in deep debt, and her other children have lives of their own and left her. Now she is living in the corner of our house, which is not very big and can only offer a little help. My mother and I are still willing to help her until she recovers, but we will be needing your help, everyone. We are not asking for a huge amount, but any amount is a huge help. We are planning to build her a sari-sari store (neighborhood sundry store) for her to start earning and be able to pay her debt. Maybe this will also help her unwind her mind and chat with people more often. We are also worried that she might get into prison because of all the letters she's receiving from the bank. Thank you, everyone. God bless us all.
