Her Current Struggle On
December 26, 2024, Umi was rushed to the ICU, where she underwent a tracheostomy to help her breathe. She remains in critical condition, and her journey is far from over. Doctors have recommended advanced treatments like
Plasmapheresis and
IVIG therapy, but these can only be performed at a specialized Type A hospital. Securing a referral to such a hospital has proven to be an uphill battle. In the meantime, her family is doing everything they can to keep her stable. Once she is discharged, Umi will need:
- Oxygen tanks (2 units)
- Suction pump and tubing
- Silicon NGT tubing for feeding
Even her life-saving medication, Mestinon, is not readily available at the hospital. The family must purchase it privately at
Rp. 16,000 - 20,000 per tablet, with her daily requirement now increased to 4 tablets.
